Castle Brands Names Corp. Mixology Director

Castle Brands, developer and international marketer of premium and super-premium branded spirits, announced that Colin Wells will be assuming the role of corporate director of mixology. Colin Wells' bartending career started at age 16 when he served drinks for his mother's catering company in upstate NY. At age 18, he assumed the role of Staff Manager for her company, and he continued in that position during summers and holidays throughout college. In his 20s, Colin worked as barkeep at a variety of both high-end and hole-in-the-wall establishments, including the US Open Club (Flushing, NY), Ryles Jazz Club (Boston, MA), PS Lounge (Denver, CO) and the world famous Swede-Finn Hall (Telluride, CO). He had worked at eight properties before the term "mixology" even came into the modern lexicon. During his years as a bar manager in the resort town of Telluride, Colin co-founded Freshies All-Natural Cocktail Mixes, a line of 20 premium non-alcoholic mixers sold in 25 states. His experience at the front line of drink mixing and brand creation combine for a unique perspective in the world of mixology.

Throughout his time with Castle Brands, Colin has served as the de facto mixology director at a variety of events and shows including Nightclub and Bar, Aspen Food & Wine Classic, Tales of the Cocktail, Bon Appetit Spirit Dinners, WSWA, and NABCA. His creative take on cocktail classics and cult drinks will help to expand the on-premise focus of Castle Brands' eclectic portfolio of premium and super-premium brands. As director of mixology, Colin plans to work hand-in-hand with wholesale and retail accounts to further the next wave of cocktail culture. He will continue to serve concurrently in his position as Vice President of Sales for the Mountain Region.
