Wirtz Beverage Wisconsin (WBW) announced the appointment of Nate Phippen in the newly defined leadership role of vice president of sales for the company. Nate replaces the company’s long-time leader Dick Deutsch who announced his retirement. Nate will be joined by a revamped leadership team comprised of company veterans to implement a new-route-to-market approach.
“Nate is a proven leader who understands both the dynamics and opportunities within the Wisconsin market,” says Julian Burzynski, EVP Wirtz Beverage Group. “We are very excited about the energy and focus he and his team will bring to expanding our statewide reach and capturing growth opportunities.”
As vice president of sales, Nate Phippen will oversee all sales and marketing efforts of Wirtz Beverage Wisconsin. A long tenure with the company, Nate previously worked as a vice president of sales at Wirtz Beverage Illinois. There, he led two divisions and was responsible for their consistent performance and marked growth. He is a 20-year veteran of the beverage business with expertise in TBA approach in all channels.
Joining Nate Phippen on the WBW leadership team will be the following individuals:
Mark Cirillo, strategic partnership leader: Mark Cirillo, previously VP of sales, is an accomplished professional with nearly 30 years of beverage sales and management experience. In his new role, he commits his expertise to growth and strategic partnership opportunities with both suppliers and customers statewide.
Steve Walls, Sales Director – Milwaukee: Overseeing the total beverage sales for the company’s Milwaukee business is Steve Walls. Strong relationships in the marketplace and extensive knowledge of the WBW portfolio make him well-suited to lead these efforts. In his previous role, Steve was director of sales, spirits.
Al Vieau, Sales Manager Off-Premise – Milwaukee: Al Vieau has more than 40 years’ experience in the beverage business. For the last 15 years, he has been a key sales manager for WBW. His industry insight and proven sales and marketing abilities now support the company’s off-premise accounts in the Milwaukee region.
Dave Stefanski, Sales Manager On-Premise – Milwaukee: An on-premise expert, David Stefanski’s focus remains dedicated to the company’s on-premise wine sales. As sales manager, he oversees total on-premise category sales for the Milwaukee area to help generate increased volume and revenue.
Jeff Satterburg, Sales Director – Madison: In his most recent role as regional sales manager, Jeff Satterburg proved he is a skilled leader who drives results. By leading and motivating teams, he helped achieve company, supplier and customer goals. He will provide the same support for the Madison area accounts now under his purview as sales director.
Jim Rosemeyer, Sales Manager Off-Premise – Madison: Overseeing the same territory while accepting greater responsibility, Jim Rosemeyer moves from district manager to sales manager. The company says his abilities to foster strong relationships and drive sales are well-known. He will put those talents to use to support sales activity for off-premise Madison accounts.
Tracy Sturm, Sales Director – Heartland: Tracy Sturm transitions from area manager, Heartland into the division’s new sales director position. Wirtz calls her "a talented leader" who is "known for developing teams that meet or exceed sales sale goals." In her new role, Sturm will focus on implementing key business initiatives to inspire future Heartland growth.
Chuck McChesney, Market Manager – Trade Development: Chuck McChesney is a qualified beverage professional with varied experience. He transitions from his role as director of sales, wine into the market manager position to support the company’s trade development arm. Working closely with suppliers, Chuck will oversee plans, goals, sales strategy and pricing.
