Reed’s, Inc. says its West Coast production facility has been certified Kosher for its entire line of brewed non-alcoholic beverages, including Reed’s Ginger Brew, Reed’s Culture Club Kombucha and Virgil’s Sodas. The plant is certified by the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America . The Kosher trademark will start appearing on all product labels as the new labels get deployed. The East Coast facility is already certified.
“Our West Coast facility went through a thorough seven-step process to obtain the OU certification, including an ingredient and equipment kasherization,” said Chris Reed, founder and CEO of Reed’s. “We stand behind the quality and purity of all of our Reed’s beverages, and this certification by the OU reinforces that commitment.”
Nearly 1 million products worldwide carry the OU symbol. According to the latest data from Lubicom Marketing and Consulting, there are 12.1 million kosher U.S. consumers in a $12.5 billion industry. Forty percent of kosher sales occur on the eve of Passover.
