Mike's Gets Into Cider & Lager

Mike’s Hard Lemonade Co. is rolling entries into new categories, beer and cider, and providing new ways for consumers to enjoy their favorite Mike’s Hard Lemonade flavors. Innovations from the brandinclude: • Mike’s Authentic Shandy hard lemonade and lager - a blend of Mike's Hard Lemonade and golden lager • Mike’s Hard Smashed Apple Cider - Two naturally fermented ciders made with crisp Washington apples • Mike’s Hard Lemonade Frozen - As the name suggests, frozen versions of traditional Mike's flavors • Mike’s Hard Blood Orange – a hard take on orange-flavored beverages.


Bud Bowtie-Shaped Can on the Way

U.S. beer giant Anheuser-Busch announced Budweiser will be available in bowtie-shaped 11.3-ounce cans beginning May 6. The St. Louis company announced Monday the cans, which have been in development for several years, are designed to resemble Budweiser's bowtie-shaped logo and will be available for purchase in 8-packs beginning May 6, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Tuesday. Coke Promises Greener Bottles in China

Coca-Cola has revealed plans to sell its fizzy drinks, including Coca-Cola, Sprite and Fanta, in "greener" plastic bottles in China. According to the company, the recycled plastic, or PET, bottles now going to be used will be the first to be made partially from plants, in this case, sugarcane waste. Existing PET (or polyethylene terephthalate) bottles are made from non-renewable petroleum, but the new PlantBottle to be used in China has been created from one of the key ingredients from sugarcane for PET plastic, called monoethylene glycol, which represents 30 percent of the total composition of PET plastic by weight. Knife & Son is known for its commitment to maintaining the finest selection of craft and specialty beers available, and once Golden Road was prepared to continue its distribution through San Diego, the partnership was a natural fit.


Sweetwater Brewing Completes Expansion

Nearly two years in the making, SweetWater Brewing Company is polishing off the finishing touches on its newly expanded brewhouse, a system that can now manage more than 250 barrel batches. This project completes the final phase of SweetWater’s recent three-part production overhaul. With the new system in operation, SweetWater’s brewing capacity has more than quadrupled, allowing the team to start checking off some long awaited boxes, including plans to expand its Southeast distribution to a handful of new markets and open sales to three new states for the first time since 2008.


Woodchuck Partners with Tree Organizations

Over the last three years Woodchuck Hard Cider has planted more than 34,000 trees in areas devastated by natural disaster across the country. Woodchuck will again plant one tree through the American Forests Global ReLeaf program for every new Facebook ‘Like’ or e-newsletter sign up received between April 17 and April 23, 2013.
