Scotch whisky exports grew in the first six months of 2013 as the industry continues to lead the way for the U.K.’s food and drink sector and export-led recovery. Figures released by the Scotch Whisky Association show that export revenue increased by 11 percent to nearly £2 billion (US$3.1 billion) in the first six months of this year from £1.78 billion (US$2.8) in the first half of 2012. Some 563 million bottles of Scotch whisky were exported between January and June this year, up 9 percent, or nearly 50 million bottles, from the same period in 2012.

The distinction honors companies that create the most positive environment for their employees. Earlier this year, New Belgium Brewing became a Certified B Corporation after transitioning to a 100 percent employee-owned model.
