Global Wine Shortage Looms

New wine-producing countries are popping up around the world, but not fast enough it seems, as a global wine shortage is looming. A report released by Morgan Stanley Research on Monday shows that there was an undersupply of about 300 million cases of wine in 2012, the largest deficit recorded in almost 50 years, Quartz reports. Icelandic Glacial Warms to Ukraine

Icelandic Water Holdings hf, makers of the award-winning, premium natural spring water from Iceland, Icelandic Glacial, has announced a partnership with Ukrainian distributor of wines, spirits and beverages, Wine Bureau. Headquartered in Kiev, Wine Bureau will begin to immediately distribute Icelandic Glacial natural spring water to accounts throughout the Ukrainian market including Wine Bureau’s own Good Wine stores.


Coke in Biggest Bond Offering To Date

Coke FEMSA Closes on Brazil's Spaipa

Coca-Cola FEMSA, S.A.B. de C.V., the largest franchise bottler of Coca-Cola products in the world, announces that it has successfully closed the acquisition of 100% of Spaipa S.A. Industria Brasileira de Bebidas in an all-cash transaction. (WSJ)

Avitae Expands to Whole Foods Mid-Atlantic

Avitae USA, LLC is expanding retail presence of Avitae Caffeinated Water into Whole Foods Market stores in the mid-Atlantic region. Avitae says its partnership with Whole Foods Market strengthens its position in the beverage category, increasing distribution in the natural food channel. The product, distributed by DPI Specialty Foods, will be available in 42 Whole Foods Market stores throughout Kentucky, Maryland, Southern New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
