Coke HBC Posts First Profit Rise in 3 Years

Swiss-based Coca-Cola HBC , the world's No.2 bottler of Coca-Cola posted a 3 percent rise in 2013 profit on Friday, the first in three years, as cost cutting more than offset soft demand for its beverages. (Reuters)


New Hawaii Craft Beer Distributor to Launch

Maui Brewing Co. announced a partnership with San Diego, CA-based Stone Brewing Co. to create a new craft beer distributor: Maui - Stone Craft Beverages. The distribution company was created by craft brewers specifically for Hawaiian craft beer enthusiasts. Maui - Stone Craft Beverages will offer both breweries' beers as well as an amazing portfolio of other craft beer brands from Colorado and California. The ultimate goal of this joint venture is to elevate craft beer awareness island-wide and bring more craft beer to Hawaii.


Wisconsin Distillers Testify for Tasting Bill

A group of local distillers from across Wisconsin came to the state Capitol this week to testify in support of a bill that would allow adult consumers to sample small amounts of their distilled spirits products at liquor store tasting events, according to the Distilled Spirits Council, a national trade association representing thousands of liquor brands sold in Wisconsin.


Shmaltz Brewing Enters Kentucky Market

Shmaltz Brewing Company has announced a partnership with a new distributor, Beer House Distributors of Kentucky, as it enters the Kentucky market for the first time. The latest addition to Shmaltz's new team of distributors across the country, Beer House enhances the regional retail presence and draft availability of the award-winning craft beer line: He'brew -- The Chosen Beer®. Shmaltz's distribution growth comes on the heels of the grand opening of a new 20,000 square feet brewing facility in Clifton Park, NY. Projected annual sales for 2014 are estimated at nearly $4 million, and Shmaltz increases its staff to 20 employees.


Manhattan's Highest Rooftop Lounge Opens

The recently opened Hyatt Times Square today debuts New York City’s highest rooftop lounge, Bar 54. Located on the 54th floor of the newly built Hyatt Times Square, Bar 54 is a 122-seat indoor/outdoor lounge serving specialty cocktails, fine wines and a selection of small plates. Guests and cocktail-goers can avail themselves of river-to-river Manhattan views, spanning from the Chrysler Building to One World Trade Center and beyond.
